Anatolii Tsarkov is a registered mental health specialist, clinical supervisor, and mental public health researcher. He plays a key role in coordinating and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate academic and clinical training programs in clinical psychology, psychotherapy, psychiatry, and mental health. Currently, Anatolii is a doctoral fellow at the University of Zambia (UNZA), funded by the African Mental Health Research Initiative (AMARI) II.
His primary research interests encompass clinical research, and the exploration of holistic and complementary treatment modalities aimed at enhancing the quality of life for individuals with severe mental disorders. Additionally, he is dedicated to advancing diversity and inclusion within mental health care, with a particular focus on empowering community-based approaches and fostering collaborative support systems to build resilience and well-being.
Anatolii's doctoral research explores the role of animal-assisted therapy in improving mental health outcomes in low and middle-income countries, with a particular focus on African countries such as Zambia. He aims to investigate its potential to enhance therapeutic support, alleviate symptoms of mental disorders, and contribute to holistic mental health care approaches.
