Fabian Musoro is the National Manager for Mental Health Services under the Ministry of Health & Child Care, Zimbabwe. In this role, he provides strategic leadership, policy development, and oversight for national mental health programs. His responsibilities include coordinating mental health services nationwide, integrating mental health into primary healthcare, advocating for policy reforms, and strengthening mental health systems through capacity building, research, and service delivery improvements.
Fabian holds a Master’s degree in Biostatistics and Epidemiology and has over 15 years of experience as a mental health expert. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Maternal Mental Health under the AMARI scholarship. His doctoral research focuses on developing a psychosocial support framework for caregivers of children with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) in Harare. As part of his study, he is conducting a systematic review to evaluate existing support frameworks and identify gaps in current interventions.
His research interests include maternal mental health, adolescent mental health, and the intersection of HIV and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) among young people. Fabian is dedicated to advancing mental health policies and implementing evidence-based interventions to improve the well-being of vulnerable populations in Zimbabwe and beyond.
