Tendekai Simango is an emerging mental health professional whose academic foundation informs her commitment to advancing inclusive and community-driven approaches to mental health care. She holds a BSc Honours in Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work from the University of Zimbabwe, offering a multidisciplinary perspective to the field, integrating clinical insight with a deep understanding of social dynamics.

Tendekai’s current MPhil research explores the prevalence of depression, associated factors, and preferred treatment methods among men in Mutare. The study’s main aim is to break the silence around men’s mental health and challenge the stigma that keeps many men from seeking help while gaining understanding on how men would like to receive assistance in ways that truly speak to them.

The vision is simple: To build a world where mental health is not just a topic for discussion, but a lived priority included in everyday lives, in our homes, workplaces and communities.
