Hanna Negussie is a Senior Clinical Trial Coordinator at the Centre for Innovative Drug Development and Therapeutic Trials for Africa (CDT-Africa), Addis Ababa University. She has extensive experience managing clinical trials, coordinating various research projects and contributing to health systems research, with several publications in peer-reviewed journals. Her expertise spans trial operations, research management and implementation of complex studies in low-resource settings.
Her research interests focus on suicide prevention, complex interventions and implementation science, with a particular emphasis on adapting and testing approaches that address mental health challenges in African contexts. For her PhD, Hanna is co-developing and testing a culturally appropriate intervention to reduce suicidal behavior in Ethiopia. Drawing on evidence from Africa and other low-income countries, incorporating the lived experiences of survivors and families and piloting the intervention in Addis Ababa, she aims to generate practical, locally relevant solutions to help reduce the burden of suicide in Ethiopia.
