Maxmillion Mudeyi is a mental health professional currently serving as the Provincial Mental Health Officer for Matabeleland South, Zimbabwe. With a solid foundation in psychiatric nursing, he has broadened his academic and professional expertise by studying Criminology, specializing in Forensic Psychology.
In his role, Maxmillion coordinates a wide range of provincial mental health initiatives, including public awareness campaigns, training of healthcare workers, community outreach, and the integration of mental health services into primary healthcare.
He is currently pursuing an MPhil in Public Mental Health at the University of Zimbabwe. His research explores the influence of health beliefs among young adults admitted to Ingutsheni Central Hospital for substance use disorders. His key interest lies in developing a tailored treatment algorithm for young adults, aimed at improving outcomes for this vulnerable population. Maxmillion is deeply committed to advancing mental health care delivery, particularly in the areas of youth substance use and recovery.
