Ntombizodwa Nyoni is a Health and Wellness Strategist currently working at UNWFP as a Regional Bureau Nurse. With over twenty years of experience in the healthcare sector, she has managed clinical and occupational health programs, coordinated emergency operations, and developed systems that support staff wellbeing. Her expertise includes designing and managing Employee Assistance Programs, advancing chronic disease management initiatives, and evidence-based wellness interventions. Beyond her professional role, she supports organisations that service migrants in Johannesburg through health promotion and advocacy.

Zodwa holds a Diploma in Nursing from Zimbabwe and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Mental Health from the University of Cape Town funded by AMARI. She also holds a certification in Nurse Initiated Management of Antiretroviral Therapy (NIMART) from FPD, South Africa, and a Global Health certificate from NextGenU, an organisation supported by the Ulrich and Ruth Frank Foundation for International Health.

Her research interests include migrant health, adolescent well-being, bereavement intervention, and mainstream mental health systems. Zodwa’s MPhil investigates complicated grief among bereaved African migrant adolescents in Johannesburg, amplifying the marginalised voices of their lived experiences and examining how caregiver support influences emotional recovery in unfamiliar cultural settings.
